America Soprano Tamara Haskin made her international stage debut in 2009, at the Macedonian Opera in the title role of Aida - a role in which she has enjoyed major success and critical acclaim throughout Germany.
In the 2016/17 season, she returns as Aida at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz in Munich and will also debut her AIDA in Poland at the Opera Śląska. She will also be Guest Soloist for the Setmana Lirica de Santanyi Opera Gala in Mallorca, Spain and later returns to Spain for a 5-city Concert Tour of Negro Spirituals.
Her past engagements have featured her as Aida at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, the Theater Hof, the Theater Regensburg, Theater für Niedersachsen, as well as Elisabetta (Don Carlo) at the Theater Hagen.
She appeared as a soloist with the KlassicPhilharmonie of Hamburg, Germany, the Midland Symphony, the New Haven Symphony, the One World Symphony and the Gateway Symphony Orchestra in the United States. In 2008 at the New York City Opera she covered the role of Sister Rose in Dead Man Walking and was a soloist with the NYCO American Composers Orchestra. In 2009 she returned to New York City Opera in the role of Bess in the 20th Century opera, Strange Fruit.
In 2006 she sang the world premiere of the song cycle called Reflections, specially written for her by the renowned Cuban composer Tania Leon at the opening of the Gatehouse Theatre in New York City.
Tamara Haskin received awards from the New York Vocal Artist Foundation, and the Altamura / Enrico International Voice Competition. She is also a two-time winner of Vera Scammon International Voice Competition. |
